Birmingham, Ala. – After leading the Missouri men’s basketball team to a pair of wins last week as the Tigers continue their unbeaten start to the 2022-23 campaign, graduate student D’Moi Hodge was honored as SEC Player of the Week, announced by the conference Monday.
In a pair of wins over SIU Edwardsville and Mississippi Valley State, Hodge averaged 24.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.0 steals per game. A native of Tortola, British Virgin Islands, Hodge tallied 30 points in the victory over the Cougars to start to the week – the most by a Tiger through five games this season. He also added seven boards, four steals and three assists versus SIUE. Hodge then followed up with an 18-point contest against the Delta Devils in addition to a career-best six steals – the most by a Tiger in two years.
Overall, Hodge ranks in the top 10 of the SEC in five categories – placing sixth in scoring (17.0), sixth in field goal percentage (51.7), sixth in steals (2.80), seventh in 3-point field goals per game (2.80) and ninth in 3-point percentage (35.9).
Hodge and the Tigers return to action Wednesday night, looking to improve on their 5-0 start to the season when they host Coastal Carolina. First tip at Mizzou Arena is scheduled for 6 p.m.
