The Liberty, Mtn-View Eagles went back into SCA play on Tuesday night, February 11th, 2025. This time, taking on the (3-16) Cabool Bulldogs. Eagles once again as they did the night before, dominated on three point shooting and rebounds. The matchup won by a Final Score of 73-43.
Summary:
1st Quarter: Tip controlled by the Liberty Eagles and bucket laid in by Parker Tune. Cabool Bulldogs will break the pressure and try for a shot which is no good. Taken back by Parker Tune for another two pointer, bringing the score to 4-0. Bulldogs make a steal but taken back as a three pointer is up and good by Alex Tune. The Eagle lead is now 7-0. Cabool comes on the board off a three pointer by Bennett Montgomery. Answered back by Parker Tune with another three for the Liberty Eagle as they are now up 12-3. A few trips back and forth down the timeline and another three by parker sends the Eagles out to fifteen. A baseline shot off the rebound by Jordan Kentner for the Cabool Bulldogs. Taken back and a two point shot by Draydon Wells. Eagles get their own rebound and three pointer by Gavin Reese. The next three pointer for the Bulldogs by Brody Norfalise. Taken back by Parker Tune who makes a shot on the offensive rebound. With about a minute left, Bulldogs try to get a little more aggressive with the ball movement. Shot up and good at the buzzer by Brayden Mays as the Eagles lead 24-12 at the end of one.
2nd Quarter: Parker Tune with a nice baseline, drive shot as they now go up by three more. Another steal off the next Bulldog possession with another three by Alex Tune. Bulldogs come up a few more as Brody Norfalise makes his fifth point of the game off a good lay in. Bulldogs get a few more offensive possessions but Eagles continue to steal it back as Brayden Mays steals it and puts the ball in off the glass. Eagles are looking to try for another three but the pressure is forcing them to slow down a bit. The eighth point in from seventeen feet by Draydon Wells for two more, approaching under two minutes and the Eagle lead 37-18. Bulldogs run the ball back and forth down the timeline. Shot up at the buzzer by Norfalise is good.
HALFTIME- Liberty Eagles: 37/ Cabool Bulldogs: 20
3rd Quarter: Bulldogs are able to pick up where they left off and score some easy shots. One a piece for Jordan Kentner and one by Brody Norfalsise. Eagles come back though as Draydon Wells and Gavin Reese both hit two pointers and find their way into double digits. Two more for Norfalise on the fourth rebound for the Bulldogs. Alex & Parker Tune with a good play as it’s taken back for the Eagles, Parker assisting Alex on the layup for his thirteenth point on the night. Bulldogs take it back but stolen by Draydon Wells for another two pointer. Taken back the Bulldogs and the eighth point on the night by senior Carson Lindsay. A three pointer on the next Eagle possession is good by Alex Tune, increasing him to sixteen points on the night. Parker Tune with a shot attempt on rebound, but is sent to the line for two free throws and only making one free throw. Turnaround jumper off the glass as Cabool tries to take hold of it, but put in by Parker Tune. Ketner keeps trying for the two hander but keeps getting stolen back by the Eagles. A three attempt by bulldog Josiah Leonard and is incomplete, tries to complete the play at the line but doesn’t go. Taken back for two more by Parker Tune. Quarter ends with the Liberty Eagle lead, 52-34.
4th Quarter: First shot is a good three by Alex Tune. Cabool takes it back, tries for a two point. Brayden Mays tries for a shot in which Cabool tries to block and it goes out, but he goes to the line for two. Mays makes both of his free throws and increases the Eagle lead to twenty five. Another three pointer by Parker Tune is up and in. Cabool takes it but turns it back over. Gavin Reese tries for a three but is no good and the Bulldogs will take it back and shoot it up and well by Kentner. Rebound by Liberty and another three pointer by Alex Tune. A foul call as Alex tries to take slap the ball away from Brody Norfalise and this will send Carson Lindsay to the line, making two good free throws. Another foul sends Jordan Kentner to the line, Kentner also making two and knocking the Eagles down to twenty two points. Titus Jester for a three pointer and bringing the Eagles back up to twenty three after they were put down to twenty one after another good shot by Carson Lindsay. Both teams empty their bench as a shot by Lincolin Hynes is good.
