Eagles Win District Opener

There were four games played today in Mountain Grove, MO for the Class 3: District 4 Tournament. The first game saw St. James breeze past Mountain Grove 87-40. The second game saw the Willow Springs Bears get the best of the Licking Wildcats winning 73-45. The Third game was Ava making easy work of Dixon, winning 97-38. The fourth and final game of the night, the main event if you will saw the Liberty Eagles going up against the Houston Tigers.

It was a back and forth game throughout the night as Jaris Acklin opened up the game hitting 2 three-pointers early giving a first quarter lead for the Eagles at 22-21. Acklin would finish 17 points and at the half it was 38-35 in favor of Liberty. Toone for Houston would lead the Tigers in scoring with 15 while Moore had 14 and Franklin had 13. A strong push at the end from the Eagles would put the game just out of reach of the Tigers as Zack Stretch had 10 points and 11 rebounds Cornman had 11 points and Kaden Daniels had 17 to round out the scoring for the Eagles close win 65-58.

Liberty will play Ava Wednesday evening while in the other semifinal game it will be St. James going up against Willow Springs.
