No. 21 Mizzou used strong defense down the stretch to post an 85-73 win over Mississippi State on Thursday, advancing to the SEC Tournament Quarterfinals. With the win, the Tigers improve to 22-10, while the Bulldogs slip to 21-12. The Tigers advance to their fifth SEC Quarterfinal in school history, playing second-seeded Florida on Friday night. Mizzou who defeated Florida, 83-82, during the regular season – is set to battle the Gators in a 6 p.m. tipoff on SEC Network.

West Plains Lady Zizzer Soccer team will compete in the Lady Pirate Clasic chasing sunshine and goals tournament. Teams competing are Branson, Lighthouse Christian, Republic, Monett, Joplin, Bolivar, Carthage and West Plains. The Lady Zizzers will face Carthage in the first round on Friday March 28th at 3pm.

 

Class 3 boys state playoff’s Thayer Bobcats defeats Woodland 68-61 for third place in class 3 boys basketball, Principia is crowned state champion by knocking off KIPP KC Legacy in the championship game 76-56.And Girls class 3 state champion is Fair Grove they defeated Principia 39-33 in the championship game.

 

On Tuesday July 29 Zizzer Football will be having their Night of Champions Iron Zizzer at 5pm in the Zizzer Athletic Training Center. This is a great night to come out and see Zizzer players perform in the weight room.

 

 

 Boys class 1 final four Chadwick vs Wheatland 2pm on today, and St. Elizabeth vs Braymer at 4pm on today. In class 1 Girls Chadwick vs Walnut Grove 6pm on today and Northeast Cario vs Rock Port at 8pm today. Class 2 final four girls St. Vincent vs Tipton at 10am on today, Norwood vs Skyline at noon today.

 

Annual Mountain View Birch Tree Liberty Girls Basketball Camp. April 2-4 is when the 4th-5th grade camp will be held. April 8-10 is when the 1st-3rd grade camp will be held. Both camps will take place at the new Champs Gym in MV. Transportation to the gym will be provided by bus after school each day. Camp will end at 5:15 p.m. each night. Open to current 1st-5th grade girls.

 

 

The Cardinals will be back on the radio KUKU 100.3 FM this weekend, Saturday at 1155 vs the Blue Jays and Sunday at noon vs the Marlins.
