Garylee has sports with Connor Lair heading back to MSU

The Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) Grizzly Softball team has found its new head coach. He’s Ryan Hargrove of Salem, Arkansas. He replaces the team’s first head coach, Don Long, who resigned in May. Hargrove began his new duties Thursday, July 18.

This Friday July will be the Give Local First 2-person 18 hole golf scramble to be held at North Terra Golf Course in West Plains there will be two tee times 8am and 1pm you may play in both but with a different partner a sign-up sheet is at North Terra Golf Course. Cash payout and cash for hole prizes.

 

West Plains Zizzer Quarterback Club Annual Football dinner and auction Friday August 16th at middle school Fema Shelter 6pm doors open at 530 pulled pork dinner with all the sides, silent and live auction. Single ticket 25 dollars and reserved tables for 6 250 dollars.

 

Former West Plains Zizzer running back Connor Lair will play for Missouri State during the 2024 season. Connor played 10 games for the Bears in 2022 and was set for a bigger role in 2023 when he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma after two games. Connor entered the transfer portal in April committing to play for Harding University. After some roster shuffling, Connor has decided to return to Missouri State, where he will continue to play running back. Lair is nearing clearance after recovering from his Hodgkin’s Lymphoma diagnosis.
