This summer the Grizzlies will be hosting two Summer Basketball Camps. June 17th-19th will be the Grizzlies Summer basketball camp. It is open for boys and girls 8th grade and down. Saturday, May 25, the West Plains Sunrise Rotary Club will host the 22nd Annual Tom Smith Sunrise Rotary Classic at North Terra Golf Course. The golf tournament will start at 10 a.m. and is a 3-person scramble. Registration is open at $225 per team. You can call 417-256-9824 to register. There will be cash prizes in all the flights. $500 for first, $300 for second, and $200 for third. There are also numerous hole prizes, one of which is a 2024 Club Car Golf Cart sponsored by Clear Creek Golf Carts and Utility Vehicles. There is also going to be free food and beverages.
State High School baseball playoffs from yesterday local area teams in action in class 1 Norwood beat Leopold 5-4 at Norwood and will play Oran on May 22nd. In class 2 Van Buren lost to Portageville 3-1, also in class 2 Bakersfield lost to Iberia 2-0. In class 3 Houston will host Licking today in sectionals at 430.
