The Kansas City Chiefs are once again champions.  The Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl 57 from Glendale, Arizona.  KC erased a 24-14 halftime deficit as Harrison Butker nailed the 24-yard game winning field goal with just eight seconds left in the game.  Patrick Mahomes threw for 182 yards, three touchdowns and rushed for 44 yards including a key 26-yard scramble to set up the game-winning kick.  It’s the second time in four years the Chiefs have won the Super Bowl.  Mahomes was named Super Bowl MVP for the second time in his career.  Jalen Hurts threw for 304 yards and a touchdown in the loss.  The Eagles quarterback also tied a Super Bowl record with three rushing touchdowns.

Oklahoma and Texas have agreed in principle to pay the Big 12 Conference a total of $100 million to join the SEC in 2024, a year earlier than they had originally intended. A portion of the exit fees will go to Fox to compensate for the equivalent of seven lost Texas and Oklahoma games. The agreement is subject to the final approval from the Oklahoma and Texas governing boards. On July 1, the Big 12 will officially add BYU, Central Florida, Cincinnati and Houston and it will compete as a 14-team league for the upcoming season.

 

DeAndre Gholston sunk his second half-court buzzer beater of the season to lead the Missouri men’s basketball team to an 86-85 victory over No. 6 Tennessee on Saturday night. With the win, the Tigers improve to 19-6 and 7-5 in SEC play, while the Volunteers drop to 19-6 and 8-4 versus league foes. Up next for the Tigers Tuesday night at Auburn 530 pregame at 6pm tipoff all on Q94.
