The West Plains Country Club Ladies Association is hosting a luau themed 4-lady golf scramble on Friday August 25th at 9:00 a.m. This is open to non-members and proceeds go to the Pregnancy Resource Center of West Plains, a local non-profit. Ladies may register for the tournament at $300 per team and can call the pro shop at 417-257-2726 with questions.

Area residents can get their first look at the 2023 Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Volleyball team in action at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, during the annual Grizzly Alumni Volleyball Game at the West Plains Civic Center arena. The game will pit the 2023 Grizzlies against players from previous squads. Those attending will also see the 2023 West Plains High School Zizzer volleyball team in action for the first time. They will scrimmage at 1:30 p.m.
