The Grizzlies second softball season, which will see them move from NJCAA Division II to Division I competition. The team’s annual tailgate event takes place Saturday, Sept. 9 with the Grizzlies’ home double header against the Mountain Home (Arkansas) Diamonds club team at the West Plains Parks and Recreation Department softball fields adjacent to the high school parking lot, the home field for the Grizzlies.

 

(MSU-WP) have hired the first head coach for the Grizzly Baseball program.

He is Kadem Tharp, who is coming to the Grizzlies from Harrison, Arkansas, where he served two seasons as head baseball coach at North Arkansas College, an NJCAA Division III program. His hiring is pending approval by the MSU Board of Governors. His first day on the job was Aug. 15.
