The Astros eight-game winning streak is over after a 7-4 loss to the Royals in Houston. Whit Merrifield and Hunter Dozier each went deep in the first inning, and Emmanuel Rivera hit a home run in the second to give Kansas City an early 4-0 lead. Brad Keller picked up the win after allowing four runs in five-and-two-thirds innings, while Scott Barlow earned his 13th save. The Royals end a two-game losing streak with the win. Aledmys Diaz launched a solo shot in the losing effort, and Cristian Javier was charged with his fourth loss after surrendering five runs in five innings. Houston still leads the AL West by 13 games.
The Mountain View Family Youth Center will be hosting a CO-ED Adult softball Tournament at the city softball fields on August 20th the coast per-team is $100.00 Registration deadline is August the 5th for more information please call 417-934-0067. All proceeds help support our area youth!
The Willow Springs Men’s Golf League will start at 530pm with a tee time of 6pm, every Thursday evening the league will continue to be a two-person 9-hole scramble, Members and nonmembers are welcome to play in the Thursday night men’s league at Willow Springs.
The Grizzly Volleyball Alumni Game will be August 13th and start with a 11:00 am Lunch @ Hibby’s and the game will start at 3:00pm at the WP Civic Center everyone is welcome to attend this great event. The tradition of this game brings together everyone who knows just how special this program is.
