Both West Plains Zizzer cross country teams really needed to show up and compete to place where they did on Saturday. The girls were the target of several other teams, but they competed hard and came out on top. This was the 11th consecutive Ozark conference championship for the lady Zizzers. The boys ran a strong race again and they are still getting better. They came in second to the nationally ranked Kickapoo chiefs. Both teams have to qualify for State on the 29th at Districts in Nixa. Top 14 in each Varsity race earned All-Conference honors. We are proud of Hoyt Stiner, Ridge Smith, Jackson Free, Carson King, Emily Ritter, Jorden Tollenaar, and Addison Sanders for earning this recognition with their performance. We had three JV kids join the varsity ranks as well. Three freshman- Trevin Smith, Seri King, and Emma Dixon all earned their candy stripes and earned their spot in the varsity lineup for the district meet. The cross-country team has a week off to train and get ready for Districts and State. They will compete in Districts at Nixa on 10/29.
