Grizzlies end 2024-2025 season as they fall by exact same score, once again facing State Fair Roadrunners

The Missouri State West Plains Grizzlies returned to Sedalia, Missouri to the Campus of State-Fair Community College to face the State Fair Roadrunners on Tuesday night, March 4th, 2025. This after losing their play-in game on Saturday night by a Final of 73-60. Game went much like the previous as the Final Score was exactly the same, Grizzlies also had the same tough start they had in the First half.

Summary: 

1st Half: Early foul on the play for the State Fair Roadrunners after #23, Chin Hanson tries to shoot but misses the board, he gets to shoot it out at the throw line. Rebounded by #33, Lionel Kiumwimba who tries for a look to shoot and score but falls short. Balls gets down to #12, Ergie Kougnami who shoots and scores to put it in for a two and the brief lead. Redounded by #25, Sam Bradford for the Roadrunners who scores on their end. Bradford scores again on a three as the Roadrunners have a 5-2 lead. Two more threes by State Fair both by Bradtner and now the Roadrunners are almost exactly where they were in the First half of Saturday night’s game as the Roadrunners have once again; 11-2 game. It continues to be nothing but Roadrunners as another baseline jumper is good by Bradtner as according to Harlin Hutchison “Is Bradtner going to be Larry Bird again tonight, the answer is yes.”

 

Grizzlies finally get a possession and a two point by #1, Ryan Richardson who evens the Score to 14-5. A foul on a play by Alex Gunnels as the Roadrunners take it back and this adds two more to the Roadrunner lead. Nothing but net as the Roadrunners keep it and now two more by #15, Daniel Garza. #3,Jonathan White in for the Grizzlies makes his first bucket, White who has a habit of making some difficult shots makes one in and does this twice. White also has some success attacking and blocking, hence; he makes three points, one from the line and the two he scored previously. Taken back by Bradford by the Roadrunners who cuts the lead back down with another jumper on the other end, this is his fourth point in the game. Garza also makes his fourth point in the game plus two free throws. Finally a three pointer by #20, Blayne Harris for the Grizzlies as they have not had good luck at all from the three point line so far in the game. #10, Mosa Osagie with his first bucket after taking it on a run plus two more free throws. This continues to be a theme for the Roadrunners; many score attempts are continuing to be made at the throw line. Osagie makes 1-2 from the line but also gets the rebound, he has four points in the game.

Another three from the wing, once again good by Osagie; the score now 31-16. Taken back for two by Richardson for two plus a right hand layup by #5, Shaun Glass for the Grizzlies. A bounce pass from Ryan Richardson to Ethan Smith gives Smith the chance to shoot two free throws, he makes one. 

HALFTIME- State Fair Roadrunners: 34/ MSU-WP Grizzlies: 21

2nd Half: Two more points by #10 Mosa Osagie puts in two more for the Roadrunners plus a baseline jumper by #23, Chin Hanson. Roadrunners turn over for what seems to be a 5-0 run all from #5, Shaun Glass for the Grizzlies; one of these a three pointer. Roadrunners make another turnover after another baseline shot by Hanson. Three pointer by #2, Riley Whitaacker. Taken back by the Roadrunners and another three by Osagie. Grizzlies cut back the lead to nearly ten; Another baseline jumper, the fifth by Blayne Harris. A blocking foul on #10; Jake Sage and Sam Bradford tries to make two but they don’t fall, the Roadrunner score 48-31. Grizzlies get at least two more steals and a free throw attempt by #1, Richardson. Another steal; another another bucket by Ergie Kougnami. Ergie having good luck scoring on these series of steals.

As Roadrunners take it back; #3, Ndiaye scores two buckets, one of these is in the act of fouling. Grizzlies try to take it back, but a drive in and steal by #25, Bradford. A three by Bradford follows plus another baseline jumper by Ndiaye as the Roadrunners now lead by at least 58-43.

Osagie who hardly had any points in the game on Saturday night now goes up by Twelve points, Second three of the half by #1, Richardson for the Grizzlies who are down by nineteen; falls short but gets to shoot it out from the line. Foul on the next play for the Roadrunners as #5, Tyson Mobley shoots his first points in the game at the line. Ergie Kougnami takes the ball to basket several more times as he has accumulated ten in the games, this contests with Bradford who continues to steal the ball away from him. Ndaiye continues to round out shooting close to the hoop. Jayden Roach to score the last point for the Grizzlies for this season at the line as he makes 1-2 free  throws.

Grizzlies will end their season at 12-19, the Roadrunners will continue on to Face Moberly in the Region-Sixteen Tournament.
