The Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzlies hosted the Moberly Greyhounds at the West Plains Civic Center on Jan. 20, 2024. The Grizzlies new they had a tough game ahead of them, as the Greyhounds have a better win-loss ratio in away games this season compared to their home games.
The Grizzlies played a good first half of basketball. The Grizzlies kept an early lead against the Greyhounds but, as halftime approached, Moberly would overtake MSU-West Plains with a 34-36 score at the half. Poor free throw accuracy plagues the Grizzlies in the first half of the game but would see some improvement late in the game.
Scoring in the second half of the game would get away from the Grizzlies pretty quickly. The Grizzlies were plagued with fouls and had more turnovers that would slow their progress. MSU-WP would end the game trailing Moberly by 16 points.
The MSU-West Plains Grizzlies fall to the Moberly Greyhounds 59 to 75. The Grizzlies next game will be at the West Plains Civic Center on Jan. 24 against the undefeated Mineral Area Cardinals.
