The Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzlies hosted the State Fair Roadrunners at the West Plains Civic Center on Jan. 27, 2024.
The first half was slow going for the Grizzlies as they seemed to have trouble developing their offensive strategy while the Roadrunners hit the ground running. The score at halftime was Grizzlies 18, Roadrunners 27.
The Grizzlies played a hard game of catch-up in the second half, starting down 9 points. Many successful 3-point shots and solid defense allowed the Grizzlies to come within 2 points of the Roadrunners with under 4 minutes on the clock. While closing the gap to a single point, the Grizzlies play to force a Roadrunner to take two free throws after a foul and make a 3-point shot to push the game into overtime did not go through.
The MSU-West Plains Grizzlies fall to the State Fair Roadrunners, 49 to 52. Their next game will be at Three Rivers Community College to take on the Raiders on Wednesday, Jan. 31st.
