GRIZZLIES ROMP SEMO PREP FOR FIRST WIN

(West Plains) Eleven players put points in the book for Missouri State-West Plains as the Grizzlies blew out the SEMO Prep Huskies 109-67 last night at the Civic Center.

The Grizzlies were cold from the field Tuesday against Coffeyville but Thursday night was a different story. Four players had double figure performances for the winners led by second-year sophomore Nico Hill. The Opunake, New Zealand, native caught fire in the second half, scoring 24 of his game high 31 points including 6 three-pointers. Freshman Kevon Eskridge had 16 while sophomores Tre Breland and Reece Dodson had 12 and 11 points, respectively.

The Grizz took off on a 16-point run 5 minutes into the game and built a 54-31 halftime lead.

The Grizzlies will travel to Edmond, Oklahoma, this weekend for the Mitchell Elite 8 Tournament. They will play 9th ranked Kilgore College Sunday morning at 11 am. On Monday at 1 pm, the Grizzlies will face another ranked team, Odessa College. Odessa starts the year ranked 12th.
