Grizzlies to host Region 16 postseason game Tues.

            WEST PLAINS, Mo.The Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) Grizzly Basketball team will enter postseason play Tuesday, Feb. 28, when they host the NJCAA Region 16 Championship Tournament play-in game.

            The Grizzlies (11-18 overall, 4-9 region) will face State Fair Community College (8-20 overall, 2-9 region) at 7 p.m. in Joe Paul Evans Arena at the West Plains Civic Center.

            The Grizzlies are seeded fourth in Region 16 postseason action, and the Roadrunners are seeded fifth.

            Since Tuesday night’s contest is a postseason event, there will be no advanced ticket sales, university officials said. All tickets will be sold at the door.

            The winner of Tuesday’s game will face first seed and fifth-ranked Moberly Area Community College (26-3 overall, 12-0 region) in one of the tournament’s semifinal games Friday, March 3, at Lincoln University in Jefferson City.

            The other semifinal game will feature second seed Mineral Area College (21-7 overall, 8-4 region) and third seed Three Rivers College (14-15 overall, 6-6 region).

            Semifinal games are set for 4 and 6 p.m. March 3. The championship game will be played at 6  p.m. Saturday, March 4, at Lincoln University.
