(West Plains) A truncated sports season for both Missouri State-West Plains teams enters the post-season phase today.
At 11 a.m. this morning, the Lady Grizzly volleyball team will play Wabash at Indian Hills in Ottumwa, Iowa. The Grizzlies are 15-5 while Wabash is 14-8 on the season.
The other semifinal will pit host Indian Hills (14-8) against Kaskaskia (20-1) and are on a 17 game winning streak. The winners will play at 5 for the district title and will move on to the national tournament in West Plains.
Meanwhile, in Park Hills, the Region 16 basketball tournament semifinals will feature MSU-West Plains (13-9) against Moberly (15-7) at 7:30. The other semifinal will have undefeated and second-ranked Mineral Area taking on State Fair (9-14). The Roadrunners advanced by beating Three Rivers in the play-in game Tuesday at Poplar Bluff.
The winners will play Saturday at Park Hills for the Region championship at 7. All the Grizzly action will be broadcast on Hot Country KDY, 1025.
