Hannah Linthacum Leads Women’s Basketball to Rout of Kansas City

COLUMBIA, Mo. –  Four Tigers scored in double-figures as the University of Missouri Women’s Basketball cruised to an 85-42 victory over Kansas City, Thursday evening at Mizzou Arena.

Freshman forward Hannah Linthacum led the way for the Tigers with a career-high 20 points. Linthacum becomes the fifth different Tiger with 20 or more points in a game this season.

Sophomore guard Ashton Judd added 12 points to go along with a career-high 13 rebounds. It is the fourth double-double effort of the season for Judd and the 20th occasion she has scored 10+ points in her career.

Graduate guard Abby Feit recorded 12 points, Feit has scored in double-digits in four of the previous five contests.

Freshman guard Hilke Feldrappe reached double-digits in the scoring column for the first time in her career. Feldrappe tallied 11 points and grabbed four rebounds on the night.

The Tigers came out strong defensively, holding the Roos to only six points in the first quarter, tying a low for an opponent in a frame this season. Missouri forced six turnovers and held Kansas City to a 3-of-15 clip to start the contest. The effort on the defensive end helped give the Tigers an early 21-6 advantage.

Linthacum led Mizzou offensively with 10 points in the opening period.

Mizzou would maintain the pressure defensively as the Tigers would go on an 11-1 run. to start the second quarter. The Roos were held to a 6-of-31 (19.1 percent) mark in the half, the lowest percentage allowed in the first half by the Tigers this season.

As the second half began Missouri continued to pull away as a pair of 7-0 runs from the Tigers would help to increase the lead to 64-26. The advantage marked the largest Mizzou has had through three quarters this season.

The separation heading into the final quarter was enough for the Tigers to secure an 85-42 win over the in-state opponents. The margin of victory is the second highest this year for Mizzou.

Missouri secured a season-best 54 rebounds, the highest total since Oct. 6, 2023, against Belmont. The Tigers improve to 7-0 when they’ve outrebounded their opponents this season.

The Tigers will open the new year on the road as they face LSU to begin conference play. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. on SEC Network.
