As high school football teams are getting ready for Week 1, MSHSAA has guidelines in place for practices and start times. Schools use what’s called a wet bulb thermometer which measures heat and humidity, sunlight, and windspeed. When the wet bulb pumps out a reading of 92 or higher, MSHSAA recommends schools take action. Many games have been moved to 8 p.m. kickoffs.
