Houston falls to 4-2 on the season as they are uspset by the Ava Bears

The Houston Tigers traveled to the Hill at Ava High School to face the Ava Bears. They were upset by the Bears by a Score of 43-7.

1st Quarter: Immediately upon the start, Aiden Lane for the Bears scores a touchdown after getting the ball all the way down to the one yard line and intercepting the ball. After about two minutes, Hunter Adams for the Bears scores on another 3-yard touchdown run, bringing the score to 12-0. Houston ends up getting an offside penalty after taking (at least two) off side penalties as they try to penetrate the Bears offense. Throughout the next few minutes Ava brings a similar offense strategy to what we saw with Thayer the previous week and takes a good amount off the clock while refusing Houston possession. At around 1:46, Jacob Laub scores on another run (about 10 yards) Bringing the score to 20-12. Quarter ends after getting the ball down a few more yards with the same score.

2nd Quarter: Houston gets the ball down around the 40 yard line. They come close to fumbling the ball a few times but Bricen Jordan for the Tigers does a steady job on falling on the ball before it gets too close to the reach of the Bears. Eventually the ball is fumbled and the Bears fight back with another series of 3-5 yard runs and eventually rally back with Jacob Laub scoring with another 18-yard touchdown run, bringing the score to 28-0. Shortly after. Laub scores on another pass to Adams bringing the score to 36-0. Ava plays out the rest of the clock to take it to Halftime.

HALFTIME- Ava Bears: 36/ Houston Tigers: 0

3rd Quarter: As Ava put the game in the position of Turbo clock, The Bears get the ball to the 46 yard line and continue to pick up yardage but do not make any plays. However, they continue to manage to keep the ball out of the Tigers who continue to try to provoke a turnover.

4th Quarter: The Bears get the ball into the in-zone as Thomas Merrit scores on another Touchdown pass. Bringing the score to 43-0. With around 5 ½ minutes the go, The Houston offensive line is finally able to get the ball into the In-Zone as DJ Riley makes a 15-yard pass to Jordan Arthur bringing the score to 43-7. As Ava gets the ball back on offense, they play out the clock and take the win.

FINAL SCORE: Ava Bears 43/ Houston Tigers:7- Ava Bears rise to 5-1 on the season while the Houston Tigers fall to 4-2.

Tigers will face the Willow Springs Bears next week on their Home Field. This game will be broadcast on KUKU 100.3 Classic Country.
