Kickoff started with Houston possession with the ball. The first play of the game was a fumble by Houston at the 30 yard line giving Pierce City the ball. Pierce city got a quick second and goal after the Houston turnover and scored the touchdown, the extra point was good making it 7-0 early in the first quarter. Houston looked to bounce back on their second drive after an embarrassing start to the game. Houston ended up 3rd and long after some penalties from Houston, Houston called a timeout. Houston punted on 4th and long. Pierce city received the punt on their 20 yard line. A big 20 yard pass play got pierce city up the field. On second down, the quarterback took it 60 yards to the house for the touchdown. The extra point was good making it 14-0 with 6:58 left in the first quarter. Houston received the kickoff and didn’t gain anything on first down. On second down, run up the middle, makes it 3rd and short. Houston went for it on 4th and 3 and they just barely got the first down. After some incomplete passes, it was 3rd and long, it was almost intercepted but it ended up incomplete, the punt team came out for Houston. Pierce city took over on their 38 yard line. After a big 49-yard run, Pierce city was on the 13 yard line, A holding penalty took Pierce city back 10 yards giving Houston the chance to make a stop. And that they did, 2 sacks in a row gave Houston the stop they needed. Timeout was called by Pierce city before the field goal attempt. They decided to go for it on 4th and 30, and ended up failing, making it a turnover on downs for pierce city, giving the tigers the ball back. 54 yard run as time expires in the 1st quarter to make the touchdown for the tigers, Houston’s extra point was blocked making it 14-6 at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter started with Pierce city in great field position on offense, ended up getting a big gain in Houston territory. A false start brought pierce city back a couple yards. Pierce city marched down the field to make it first and goal. Touchdown pierce city, the extra point is good, making it 21-6 early in the second quarter. Houston received the kickoff with 10:29 left in the second quarter on the 31 yard line. After almost a sack and an overthrown ball, it was 3rd and long again for the Tigers. The tigers sent out their punt team after a quick 3 and out. Pierce city got the ball back and got a 55 yard passing touchdown. The extra point was no good making it 27-6 with around 9 minutes left in the second quarter. Houston received the kickoff and got a good return to the 42 yard line. Houston struggled the drive ending up with another 3rd and long, and threw an interception, giving Pierce city in good field position. Touchdown Pierce city on a 30-yard pass on 2nd down with 6 minutes left in the second quarter. Pierce City make their extra point, making the score 34-6. Houston receive the kickoff approaching 5 and a half minutes left. Houston punt again deep in their own territory after a 3 and out. Pierce city fumbled the return and Houston got the ball deep in Pierce city’s territory. Houston completed a nice pass on 3rd and long to get 1st and goal. After two plays with no gain, Houston call a timeout. Houston get stopped again making it 4th and goal. Timeout again on the field for Houston with 25 seconds left in the half. Houston go for it on 4th and goal from the 3 yard line, and they can’t convert. Pierce city gain the ball after the turnover on downs. Pierce city run the ball out and leads going into halftime 34-6.
The second half started with Pierce City with the ball on their own 37. They ended up having to punt after a 3 and out, great defense from the tigers. Houston takes over on their own 34 yard line. Houston got a touchdown after a 57 yard run, they don’t make the 2-point conversion, the score is 34-12 with around 9 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Pierce City get the ball back and gets a quick and big gain. They marched down the field quickly getting many first downs. 5:45 left in the 3rd quarter, flag on the play for pierce city, false start moved them back to the 26. They got down to 2nd and goal after some big runs, and scored a 5 yard passing touchdown. The extra point was good, making it 41-12 with 3:33 remaining in the third quarter. Houston receive kickoff at the 34 yard line with 3:27 left in the third quarter. With 2 minutes left, Houston had an unfortunate 3 and out and punted back to Pierce City. Pierce city got a first down before the third quarter came to a close. The third quarter ended with Pierce City still on top, 41-12.
The 4th quarter started off with Pierce City still with the ball 2nd and 6. Pierce City got another holding call which brought them back a little bit. Pierce city had many penalties throughout the game. They gained those lost yards back to 3rd and 3 after a big pass. Pierce city again with a holding call, denying them a touchdown. The tigers gained possession back after a turnover on downs by Pierce City. Houston come out with a short 2 yard gain with 9 minutes left in the game. They gained some first downs and started to get down the field quickly. But time was also quickly running out. Houston was able to get the touchdown after powering through the tough defense with 5:24 left to go. Houston kick the extra point and it is good. The score 41-19 with Pierce City taking over with 5 minutes to go. Pierce city got another holding call on 3rd down making it 3rd and long. Pierce city started running down the clock to give Houston no chance of coming. Pierce City punt the ball but fumble the snap with under 3 minutes left in the game. Houston get the ball at Pierce city’s 30 yard line. Houston wasn’t able to convert on 3 downs and got a penalty making it 3rd and 25. Long pass was no good and made it 4th and 25. Houston got a good gain on the next play but it wasn’t enough and turned over on downs to Pierce City. With 1:45 left to play, Pierce City looked to run the clock out. The final score was 41-19, with Pierce city taking the win.
