The Houston Tigers took on The Pierce City Eagles on Friday, August 30th 2024 with a 42-39 lead.

1st Quarter: Houston took an early 6 point lead over the Pierce City Eagles. Instantly attempting to seek out more yardage throughout the first quarter. They also took  advantage of the Eagles blind eye to their offensive line in typical. And later sought to lead by 12-0

2nd Quarter: Houston instantly scored another Touchdown with a three point with Daniel Reily passing to Layne Seago. Shortly after; The Eagles’ Kleiboeker scored an eighty yard run with an attempt for one extra point bringing the score to 12-7 After some more gained yardage, Pierce City scored a 41-yard run by Kleiboeker with a two point conversion bringing the score to 15-12, ball ending up in the wide receivers hands. The Eagles next points were scored on a pass with a two-point conversion by Dylan Kleiboeker, picking up ten extra points bringing them 22-12 at the Half.

3rd Quarter: Houston took advantage of formation as they were able to get the ball back (per coin toss) and to their advantage, Pierce City took up an unsportsmanlike penalty setting them back at least five yards. This allowed Reilly to score a run bringing the Tigers within a trail of four points. Tigers later took a fumble and were able to move the trailing within two points of the Eagles. This in effort to stop the Eagles’ running back Evan Salazar. On a whim after a false start penalty, Malachi Morgan was able to score a 53-yard run for the Tigers with a minute left in the quarter. At which point, Tigers took a six-point lead with a two-point conversion. Unfortunately, coming back after this event; Evan Salazar was able to take a 70 yard run bringing the Eagles. Ending the quarter; Eagles: 29/Tigers: 28

4th Quarter: Quarter begins with a good run from Reily, a thirty-yard pass. Bringing the Tigers back up to a Six-point lead. This forced to get creative with their formations much like the Tigers did to start the top of the 2nd. To their benefit, they scored another run bringing the two teams to a 36-36 tie. After some time running clock, Eagles were able to get the ball all the way down to the 2-yard line. Houston was in a position to try a field gore at the 17. At aout 21 seconds to go, The Eagles took a fumble and took the ball at their own 6- yard line. While this was somewhat eventful, both teams seemed mutual towards going to overtime.

Overtime:  Eagles take the ball at the 25-yard line. Tigers took a pass-interference call, giving the Eagles a chance to redeem their downs. Eagles kick a field goal to make it 39-36. As a trick play.

The Tigers will take on the Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish next week at Home. Game can be heard on 93.9 Q94 The Mountain of Rock.
