Indy 500 Fan Gets New Car From Penske After Flying Tire Hit His Car

A racing fan will be receiving a new car after her car was damaged by a flying tire at the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday.

In the final laps of the race, Kyle Kirkwood’s car collided with Felix Rosenqvist after Turns 1 and 2. It caused Kirkwood to flip and one of his tires to fly over the fence and fans in the corner of a grandstand before landing on the car in the parking lot, crushing the front left side.

Yesterday, a spokesperson for Penske Entertainment, which owns the IMS track and the IndyCar Series, said they would give the woman a new car.

The woman’s damaged car was towed from the parking lot and she was given the opportunity to kiss the Yard of Bricks.

She also received a ride home from IMS president J. Douglas Boles.
