Kansas City Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy’s Wife Shot in Virginia, Son Arrested in Connection With Incident

Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy is dealing with a family matter after his wife, Mia Bieniemy, was reportedly shot Sunday night at the couple’s home in Virginia. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office confirmed deputies responded to the residence and found an adult female suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to a hospital, where she was reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities have arrested the couple’s son, Elijah Zion Bieniemy, in connection with the shooting. He faces charges including malicious wounding, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and discharging a firearm inside a dwelling. The Chiefs released a statement saying the organization is aware of the incident involving Bieniemy’s family and is offering support while respecting their privacy. Bieniemy was with the team at training camp in Missouri earlier Sunday.
