KC Royals and STL Cardinal baseball report

The Atlanta Braves scored five runs in the first inning en route to a 7-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals at Truist Park. Matt Olson started the rally off with an RBI single before Austin Riley and William Contreras each went deep. Riley finished with three hits and three RBI. Ian Anderson worked five innings and gave up just one run to earn his seventh win as the Braves have won four of their last five. Andre Pallante was charged with his fourth loss after surrendering seven runs in three-and-two-thirds innings. St. Louis has lost three games in a row.

The Houston Astros launched four home runs in a 9-7 win over the Kansas City Royals at Minute Maid Park. Jeremy Pena and Alex Bregman each went deep in the fifth, Aledmys Diaz added a seventh inning shot, and Yordan Alvarez hit one out in the eighth. Luis Garcia picked up the win after giving up five runs in six-and-a-third innings, and Rafael Montero earned his sixth save. Houston is on an eight-game winning streak. MJ Melendez and Bobby Witt Jr. each went yard for the Royals, while Zack Greinke was tagged with the loss after allowing six runs in five innings. Kansas City has dropped three of four.
