The Willow Springs Lady Bears traveled to Houston to face the Lady Tigers. Willow started the scoring with a quick three point basket, less than five seconds into the game. That three point basket gave the Lady Bears a lead that they would not relinquish. The Lady Bears started the game with an 8-0 scoring run before Houston was able to respond. Houston did respond with 3 three point baskets to close the gap to three, 12-9. That would be as close as the Lady Tigers would get. The first quarter seemed more like a 3 point contest with both teams being efficient from beyond the arc. Willow responded to Houston’s 9-0 with a 10-0 run and led 27-12 after the first quarter.
The Lady Bears gained a little more separation by halftime leading 45-27. During the second half the gap remained consistently around 20 points. Willow led 61-39 after three quarters and would go on to win 72-49.
The Lady Bears are now (14-11) on the season and will play the Cabool Lady Bulldogs tomorrow night. The next Lady Bear broadcast will be Monday, the 19th as they begin the district tournament.
