The Liberty Lady Eagles traveled to Salem Missouri on Monday night, February 17th 2025 to face the (4-18) Lady Tigers. Lady Eagles were able to increase to 17-8 on the Season and take home a forty point victory, 66-22.
1st Quarter: Tip controlled by the Salem Lady Tigers, but stolen by Hadley Chowning for the Lady Eagles and put up and in for two. Ella Phipps for the Lady Eagles gets a look at two shots and puts the Eagles up early, 4-0. So far Salem Lady Tigers only has one steal, but scoring no points. Turned back over to Ella Phipps for the Lady Eagles for three more plus an offensive rebound upon another Lady Tiger turnover. The first points of the Game for the Lady Tigers by Raven Gillam. Turned back over and a two pointer by Korrie Lind for the Eagles as it is now a 13-2 ballgame. Lady Eagles are doing well with the trap as Salem is so far, barely finding room to get in. Ashlynn Henry with the next bucket for the Eagles, turned over and another two for the Lady Tigers by Gillam. Rebound Jaylee Tharp for the Eagles who passes in to Ella Phipps who makes three more. Quarter ends with the Score, 20-6.
2nd Quarter: Lady Tigers receive their first team foul as Ella Phipps shoot two free throws. Salem takes it back, trying to get off some passes but stolen back and put up for two by Delani Ellet for the Lady Eagles. Ball worked back down the line and passed from Lyllian Walton to Abigail Terrill who puts up two more for the Lady Tigers. Worked back down the timeline again and two more buckets; one by Lyllian Walton and the next by Addison Fulton. A foul call and now Raven Gilliam shoots two for the Lady Tigers, making both. The obstacle for the Lady Tigers continues to be the lack of guards as the abundance of guards for the Lady Eagles are forcing them to. Hadley Chowning with the rebound and the next two for the Lady Eagles. Taken back by the Lady Tigers for two more by Walton. Ella Phipps with three more for the Eagles with under a minute to go in the Half. With about 26 to go, two more by Allison Walters (her fifth) for the Lady Tigers.
HALFTIME- Liberty Lady Eagles: 41/ Salem Lady Tigers: 14
3rd Quarter: Lady Eagles look not to press going into the Second Half. Eagles get a chance to shoot as ball is passed to Korrie Lind but ball out of bounds and is forced to throw it away. The inbound play and ball is put up and in for an easy two by Shelby Holdt. Salem takes it back and tries to press, but stolen back and put in for two more by Korrie Lind. Lady Eagles now with 45, Lady Tigers still holding at 14. Raven Gilliam with the first two of the Half for the Lady Tigers. Two more followed up with a nice drive and lay in by Ella Phipps. Much of the remaining quarter is played at the free throw line as Allyson Walters shoots two more as both teams are racking up a few more. Ella Phipps with two more off of Walters’ two free throws. Much of these lucky free throws are being picked up by the Lady Tigers, however they are still being held down by at least thirty two points. They seem to only be making at least twenty points in a given quarter. Quarter ends with the score, 60-22.
4th Quarter: After ball is passed around a few times by the Lady Eagles, Phipps tries for a three but doesn’t fall. A foul call and Abigail Terrill shoots 0-2. Lady Eagles go up by about six more after two, 2-pointers by Lind & Phipps.
