Lady Panthers move up to number two national ranking

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.—  The Drury Lady Panthers moved up one spot in this week’s NCAA-II coaches’ poll and are ranked number two nationally. Drury is 11-1 and had been ranked third for the previous three weeks.

Fort Hays (7-1) was previously ranked number one but lost to 17th ranked Nebraska-Kearney 61-56 on Saturday and dropped to a fifth-place tie in the rankings. Lubbock Christian (10-1) takes over the number one position this week, while Texas A&M Commerce (8-0) is ranked third, and Lander (7-1) is fourth.

Drury was the only team in the Great Lakes Valley Conference to appear in the top 25. Southern Indiana (7-1) is receiving votes.

The coaches’ poll marks the 123rd consecutive week the Lady Panthers have been ranked in the top 25, the longest streak in the nation. It is also their 61st straight week in the top 10.

Drury is back at home on Saturday when they host Michigan Tech at 5:45 pm. The Huskies (8-2) are also receiving votes for the top 25 after being ranked 24th last week.
