Lady Panthers remain NUMBER ONE in this week’s NCAA-II poll

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Drury Lady Panthers are the number one ranked team in the nation for NCAA-II women’s basketball for the second week in a row. Drury is 16-1, 6-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, and went 3-0 since last week’s poll with wins at Southwest Baptist, at Illinois Springfield and a victory at home over Lewis.

Drury received 22 out of a possible 23 first-place votes to retain the top spot in the coaches’ poll.

Fort Hays State (13-1) moved to number two in the national rankings, while Glenville State (12-0) received one first-place vote and is third. Lubbock Christian (13-2) is ranked fourth this week and Western Washington (10-0) is fifth.

This week’s poll also marks the 126th consecutive week the Lady Panthers have been ranked in the top 25, the longest streak in the nation. It is also their 64th straight week in the top 10.

Drury is on the road for three games this weekend. The Lady Panthers are at William Jewell on Thursday, at Rockhurst on Saturday, and Drury takes on Truman State on Monday in Kirksville, Missouri. Their next home game is on Sat., Jan. 22 when they host Southwest Baptist at 1 pm.
