The West Plains Lady Zizzers took on the Hillcrest Lady Hornets in their first post-season game on March 2, 2023.
When it comes to a match up, things could not have been worse for the Hornets and the first quarter proved just how over their head things were. By the end of the first, the Lady Zizzers had taken an eighteen point lead with a score of 20 to 2. The explosive opener by West Plains slowed somewhat in the second quarter, with Hillcrest adding 12 points and West Plains adding 21. The halftime score was Lady Zizzers 41, Lady Hornets 14.
The third quarter saw the Lady Zizzers hadn’t lost any steam from the second quarter, and neither had the Lady Hornets. West Plains added 19 points while Hillcrest added 11. With such a large lead, West Plains took things easier in the fourth quarter and, Hillcrest were not able to complete as many successful shots with the Turbo Clock running. The game ended with a West Plains win, 68 to 28.
