Lady Zizzers defeat Rolla in tough game, 44 – 39

The #5 West Plains Lady Zizzers took on the #6 Rolla Lady Bulldogs on Monday night. This was one of the most physical game the Lady Zizzers had faced in the season with a strong defense in the Lady Bulldogs. 

There was no score in the first four minutes and 20 seconds of the game. The Lady Zizzers broke the stalemate with a three point shot. Rolla ran a good perimeter defense that gave the West Plains a tough time. The Lady Bulldogs would lead in the first quarter with a score of 6 to 9. The Lady Bulldogs are very good at recovering the ball after a failed shot, no matter if the shooter is theirs or their opponents. Both teams were able to double their score in the second quarter, ending with Rolla leading West Plains 12 to 18.

The third quarter would shake up the game. The score was tied up at 1:45 in the third quarter with a score of 30 but, it wouldn’t hold with Rolla regaining the lead. The Lady Zizzers would steal the lead from the Lady Bulldogs with less than thirty seconds in the third, ending the quarter with West Plains leading Rolla 33 to 32. The third quarter showed a change in the Lady Zizzers, as they came out of halftime recovering more Rolla shots than the Lady Bulldogs would.

Rolla would go to tie the game up again in the fourth quarter but, West Plains would gain a 2-point lead. A foul shot by the Lady Bulldogs would bring the score with in one but, four successful foul shots would take the Lady Zizzers to victory.

The West Plains Lady Zizzers defeat the Rolla Lady Bulldogs with a score of 44 to 39.
