It was a double header Monday evening as both the Boy’s and the Girls basketball teams would host games in conference play. First it was the boy’s turn as they went up against the Dons from Doniphan. Zack Stretch led the Eagles with 15 points and 12 rebounds as Jaris Acklin chipped in with 13 points as did Kaden Daniels. Owen for Doniphan led all scorers with 18 while Jones had 16 in a losing effort. The boys play again tomorrow night at East Carter.
In the second game it was the Lady Eagles turn to take the court against the Lady Tigers from Houston. They kept the momentum that the boys had in the first game and got out to a hot start scoring 20 points in the first quarter. To end the half Abby Woolsey hit a three-quarters court shot to go into halftime leading 38-20. The Lady Eagles had four players in double figures, Abby Woolsey(24) Shumpert(15, 11 rebounds) King(17, 12 rebounds) and Richards had 12. The Lady Eagles move to 10-3 on the year.
