Liberty Downs Ava in a Battle of SCA Heavyweights

On Friday night the Liberty Eagles (2-1) traveled to Ava to face the (3-0) #5 ranked Ava Bears in an SCA battle.  Liberty was able to take control by forcing five Ava turnovers on the night including three in the first quarter. Liberty lead 6-0 after the first quarter on a Parker Tune Touchdown.  Hunter Adams got Ava on the board with a second quarter touchdown run to tie the score at 6.  After a turnover on downs Ava took the lead with a touchdown by Lane to take the lead 12-6 with (:50) left in the half.  Chris Sharr returned the kickoff to Liberty’s 45 yard line and had back to back 15 yard catches to put the Eagles into good position.  As time expired Liberty scored on a Touchdown pass from Gavin Reese to Parker Tune and they converted the two-point conversion to take a 14-12 halftime lead.  Liberty added two touchdowns by Jaren Rutledge and another Parker Tune touchdown to win 34-12.
