Liberty Eagles Soar to a Homecoming Victory

Friday night was Homecoming for the Liberty Eagles as the Cabool Bulldogs traveled to the nest for a SCA matchup.  Liberty looked to rebound from last weeks loss to the Mountain Grove Panthers and did just that with an impressive 69-0 win over Cabool.  Liberty scored early and often enroute to a 55-0 halftime lead.  The younger Eagles took over in the second half and managed two touchdowns of their own to fly to a win.  Parker Tune had a huge game running for 184 yards on four carries and a Punt return touchdown, the young man even had three touchdowns called back due to penalties.  The play of the night was a double pass in which offensive lineman Preston Smothers threw a 68 yard pass to Chris Sharr for a touchdown.  The Eagles had nearly 500 yards total offense and will look to continue their explosive plays next week as they travel to Salem Missouri to face the (1-6) Salem Tigers.  Liberty moves to (5-2) on the year and remain in a first place tie in conference play with Mountain Grove and Thayer.
