Liberty Invitational Tournament: Finals

Saturday afternoon saw the culmination of the Liberty Invitational Tournament, where Eminence and Mountain Home Christian Academy would face off for the Consolation game. Liberty and Alton would face off in the 3rd place game of the tournament and in the championship game it would be Thayer going up against Mammoth Spring. Before we move onto the Varsity finals, in a thrilling game it was the Liberty JV over the Alton JV squads to take home the championship for the JV side of the Liberty Invitational Tournament.

In the first game on the Varsity side it was the Eminence Red Wings going up against Mountain Home Christian Academy. Spray and Cox would lead the Eagles from Mountain Home to a victory over the Red Wings. Spray had 18 points for the Eagles while Cox had 16. For the Red Wings Keeling led the way with 16 points in a hard fought game. Mountain Home would win and place 5th in the Liberty Tournament winning 59-49.

In the second game of the Varsity side, it was the Liberty Eagles going up against the Comets from Alton. It was a back and forth game through much of the first half and at the half it was tied at 25. Kaden Daniels would catch on fire in the second half with 20 points, and a total of 24 for the game. Chipping in for Liberty was Zack Stretch with 16, meanwhile Clary for Alton had 10 points and Heck had 11 points. Liberty would pull away midway through the 3rd quarter and not look back from that point on as they would go on wo win 72-57 officially taking 3rd place in the Liberty Invitational Tournament while Alton placed 4th.

In the championship game it was the Thayer Bobcats going up against the Bears from Mammoth Spring. It was a tight game throughout, and a tense one on a neutral floor. It would stay close throughout the game when in the end Jordan Andrews would hit a game winning shot in the final seconds of the game to clinch it for the Thayer Bobcats who would go on to win 42-40 over the Bears from Mammoth Spring.

The MVP of the tournament was the same that made the championship clinching shot in Jordan Andrews from Thayer.
