Liberty Invitational Tournament: Night 3

It was a cavalcade of games Friday afternoon and evening in Mountain View for the Liberty Invitational Tournament. On the Junior Varsity side of the tournament Liberty defeated Thayer 51-49 to move on to face Alton at 1:00 Saturday afternoon for the championship. In the first game of the Varsity side it was Winona going up against Mountain Home Christian Academy. It was a very tight game throughout with a lead change coming out of the 3rd quarter. However it would be Mountain Home edging out Winona with a 62-60 win.

In the 2nd game of the night, it was a highly anticipated match-up between Thayer and Liberty. Liberty got a quick, slim lead in the first quarter going up 15-14. Thayer, however had other plans as they went on a run and at the half it was 33-29. The 2nd half started auspiciously for the Eagles as they got a technical foul before the half started because a player tried to dunk the ball in warm up’s which is against the rules. It would be an absolute dogfight for the whole game, however as Jordan Andrews (19 points) would lead the Bobcats to Victory (61-51) over the Liberty Eagles who were led by Stretch(13) Daniels(12) and Lee(11). Thayer will move on to play Mammoth Spring for the championship while Liberty will play for the 3rd place game Saturday afternoon.
