On Friday night the Liberty Eagles hosted the Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish in the first round of District play. While Liberty moved the ball up and down the field in the first half, turnovers stopped several drives and the score was tied 6-6 after the first half. Catholic scored on their first drive of the second half to take 14-6 lead but Liberty, behind nearly 350 yards rushing from Carter Pruitt, got the win 20-14. Pruitt in the effort became Liberty’s career rushing leader. The Liberty Eagles will face the undefeated Fair Grove Eagles next week.
