The Seattle Mariners scored three runs in the top of the eighth to beat the Royals 6-4 in Kansas City. The M’s were down by two entering the inning, but Julio Rodriguez smashed a three-run home run to give Seattle the lead. Cal Raleigh added an insurance run when he went deep in the ninth. Rodriguez finished the game with five hits and five RBI. Isaiah Campbell picked up his third win in relief, and Matt Brash earned his fourth save. Seattle is just a half-game out of the final AL Wild Card spot. Nelson Velazquez homered for Kansas City, and Carlos Hernandez was tagged with his eighth loss. Kansas City has dropped four of five.
