Chris Foster was hired to take over the Drury men’s basketball program on March 23 following the retirement of Steve Hesser. Hesser served as head coach of the Panthers for 17 years, was the program’s all-time leader in career wins, and led Drury to the 2013 NCAA-II National Championship. The 2020-21 season was Hesser’s 41st year as a head basketball coach.

Foster comes to Drury from McKendree University, where he spent three years as their head coach and led the Bearcats to their best finish ever in the Great Lakes Valley Conference last season. He guided Truman State’s men’s basketball program from 2014-2018 and led the Bulldogs to two NCAA-II tournament appearances.

Foster and his wife Kylie have three children – son Jase (12) and daughters Avery (9) and Riley (5).
