Mets’ Pitcher Max Scherzer ‘Bitten By Dog’ On Pitching Hand

Reports claimed that NY Mets ace Max Scherzer had been bitten by his dog on his pitching hand, but the righty took to Twitter to ensure fans that it wouldn’t impact his recovery from his strained oblique.

Scherzer explained, “My dog Rafi hurt her leg on a run. She was howling in pain and I went to calm her down by putting my hands on her. When I did that she bit me on my right hand. Fortunately it wasn’t a bad bite. I took one day off from throwing and was able to long toss the next day. This will have no effect on my rehab and this is literally a non-story.”

Scherzer has already missed time due to his oblique strain, and is targeting a July return, and the bite doesn’t seem to disrupt that timeline.
