Mizzou Baseball Visits Saint Louis Today

Columbia, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball (3-9) travels to Saint Louis (2-9) for a Wednesday afternoon tilt with the Billikens. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. CT at the Billiken Sports Center.

Fans can tune-in to KTGR (105.1 FM, 100.5 FM, 1580 AM) to catch the Tigers throughout the entire 2021 season with Tex Little and Matt Michaels on the call.

• Mizzou leads the all-time series 79-18-1 over Saint Louis. Wednesday marks the 99th meeting between the two clubs.
• The Tigers claimed each of the past nine meetings, including a 4-3 win in the most recent meeting in 2019.
• Mizzou’s last defeat at the hands of the Billikens came in 2004. SLU earned a 3-1 win in that game.
• Wednesday marks Mizzou’s first trip to Saint Louis since 2009. The Tigers took home a 19-6 victory on that day.
• The Tigers have taken the last eight meetings in St. Louis, a streak dating back to 1996, and are 18-5 all-time on the Billikens’ home field.
• The first meeting between Mizzou and Saint Louis came 115 years ago in 1906.

• Graduate student Lukas Veinbergs will earn his second career start on Wednesday. The right-hander tossed five scoreless innings against Dallas Baptist last Thursday in his first start.
• Veinbergs fanned a career-high seven batters against the Patriots. His five innings of work also marked a career best.

• Freshman Ross Lovich continued his impressive run of reaching base by going 2-for-6 with a pair of walks to reach at a .500 clip in Frisco.
• For the season, Lovich leads the Tigers with a .500 on-base percentage and is hitting .400 (6-for-15) in his six games played.
• Lovich falls just beneath the cut line for conference rankings, but his .500 OBP would sit ninth in the SEC.

• Luke Mann busted out of a five-game slump with a 2-for-3 day against Arizona in the Frisco Classic finale.
• Mann launched a three-run homer which tied the game in the second inning and added a double in his next at-bat.
• The third baseman leads Mizzou with 12 RBI on the year.
