Mizzou Baseball’s 2021 Recruiting Class Earns No. 15 Ranking per Perfect Game

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball’s 2021 recruiting class continues to pile up national recognition, receiving a No. 15 ranking in the country, per Perfect Game. It marks the second top 25 national recruiting ranking by major collegiate baseball media outlets, as Baseball America also recognized the Tigers’ future freshmen class.

Mizzou’s No. 15 ranking is its highest slot by Perfect Game since 2014, as that year’s Tiger class finished No. 11 overall in the country. Both the Class of 2021 and 2014 Mizzou recruiting groups were headlined by a pair of top 100 national prospects.

Despite a COVID-19 shortened 2020 season, Mizzou Baseball head coach Steve Bieser and the Tigers carry a bevy of momentum heading into their upcoming 2021 campaign. Mizzou ended last year with seven-straight victories, marking the Southeastern Conference’s second-longest winning streak before the season abruptly ended.

The Tigers’ impressive streak was highlighted by taking two of three at the premier Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic in Houston, Texas. Mizzou closed its road trip at Minute Maid Park with back to back wins over No. 22 Oklahoma and Texas.

Coach Bieser’s 104 wins over his first three years at the helm in Mid-Missouri (2017-19) were the most-ever by any Mizzou Baseball coach in his first three campaigns. Additionally, his 104 victories marked the winningest three-year stretch by the Tigers since 2008-10.
