Mizzou Baseball’s Recruiting Class Ranked Among Nation’s Best per Collegiate Baseball News

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball’s incoming 2020 recruiting class was placed among the top 40 in the nation, announced Friday by Collegiate Baseball News.

Head Coach Steve Bieser and assistant coach/recruiting coordinator Fred Corral accumulated an impressive mix of true freshmen and transfers heading into the 2021 campaign. Overall, the upcoming Tiger roster features 18 true freshmen, seven junior college transfers and three four-year college transfers.

“This class features a strong influx of high-ceiling arms,” Coach Bieser said. “We also took care of filling a need at shortstop and added a middle of the order type of bat. Our 2021 roster will have experienced depth at all positions.”

Despite a shortened 2020 campaign, the Tigers carry plenty of momentum heading into 2021. Mizzou ended last year with seven consecutive victories, highlighted by taking two of three at the premier Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic in Houston, Texas.

Coach Bieser’s 104 wins over his first three years at the helm in mid-Missouri (2017-19) were the most-ever by any Mizzou Baseball coach in his first three campaigns. Additionally, his 104 victories marked the winningest three-year stretch by the Tigers since 2008-10.

Collegiate Baseball News has evaluated NCAA Division I baseball recruiting classes in each of the past 38 years. Athletes who initially signed letters on intent with a school, but then signed a pro contract after being drafted don’t count in the overall evaluation. Only athletes who enrolled into their respective school this fall were factored in.
