FRISCO, Texas – Mizzou Baseball (3-9) completed its weekend at the Frisco College Baseball Classic, dropping its final game, 8-4, Sunday afternoon against Arizona.
The Tigers went down 3-0 in the top of the second before answering in the bottom half of the frame. After singles from senior Andrew Keefer and freshman Ross Lovich, redshirt-sophomore Luke Mann hit a towering home run onto the concourse in right field.
The game would hold notched at three until the top of the sixth inning when the Wildcats scratched across a run. Their lead was extended with a four-spot in the next inning. Mizzou rallied in the ninth to cut the deficit to 8-4 on an RBI-knock from sophomore Torin Montgomery, but the comeback effort fell short as the Tigers stranded two runners to end the game.

Hear from the Skipper
On team’s fight and ninth-inning effort…
“Out there at the end we’re showing fight, and that’s the one thing that you know – our teams are not going to give up. We’re going to continue to work hard and figure out the things that are going wrong for us and just continue to battle. We’ve got to come together and this is a good opportunity to get ourselves back into Columbia, reset and go from there.”
