Mizzou Has Final Road Test at South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C — The University of Missouri men’s basketball team is set for its final road test of the 2021-22 season, Tuesday evening in Columbia, S.C. Mizzou will take on South Carolina for a 6 p.m. CT tip on ESPNU. Richard Cross and Joe Kleine will have the call, while Mike Kelly and Chris Gervino will have it on Tiger Radio Network.

  • Javon Pickett has been one of the most consistent players in SEC play for Mizzou, averaging 12.7 points per game on 47.8 percent shooting.
  • The senior has recorded double-digit scoring efforts in 13-straight conference contests.
  • Kobe Brown reached 500 career rebounds in Saturday’s game against LSU, becoming the second active SEC junior to reach the mark and the second Mizzou player to do so by his junior season in the last 25 years.

  • Tuesday’s matchup will feature two strong blocking teams, as South Carolina averages 5.0 blocks per contest and Mizzou is averaging four.
  • The Gamecocks have three players in the SEC top-20 in blocked shots per game, led by Wildens Leveque who is averaging 0.96 per game.
  • Leveque is also the team’s leader with 4.8 rebounds/game.
  • South Carolina feeds off the offensive glass, ranking 13th nationally with 13.14 per game.
  • Keyshawn Bryant and Jermaine Cousinard are the Gamecocks leading scorers, as South Carolina is 15-2 when at least one of them records double-digit scoring efforts.
  • Couisnard and Erik Stevenson lead the team with 11.5 points per game each.
  • South Carolina is 11-4 at home this season and have won the last two in Colonial Life.
