Mizzou Lady Tigers Opened SEC Play on Thursday Night

After the Mizzou Men got the win over Kentucky on Wednesday night, it was the Lady Tigers turn on Thursday.  The Lady Tigers were down 19-10 at the end of the first quarter but come roaring back with a 20-5 scoring run sparked by an Ashton Judd layup in which she was fouled and completed the 3-point play.  Overall a 34-13 run gave Mizzou a 39-30 lead at the half.  The third quarter saw Kentucky slowly clawing away at the lead and went on a 10-0 run in the fourth quarter tying the game at 66 and the Tigers hit key free throws down the stretch to earn a 74-71 win in the SEC opener.  The Lady Tigers move to 12-2 on the season (1-0) in the conference. Hayley Frank from Strafford, MO lead the Lady Tigers with 20 points,  Senior Lauren Hansen added 18 and West Plains’ very own Ashton Judd came up huge off the bench with 12 points.  The Lady Tigers return to the court Sunday as they face the Auburn Tigers (10-3) in another Southeastern Conference Battle.
