Mizzou Softball Adds Former Pitcher Madi Norman to Staff as Volunteer Assistant

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball Head Coach Larissa Anderson announced the addition of former Tiger pitcher Madi Norman to the staff as a volunteer assistant.

“Madi Norman is a Mizzou Tiger through and through, and since her graduation in 2019 she has given back to the softball community while staying connected and passionately devoted to her alma mater,” Anderson said. “Madi was not only an outstanding player here at Mizzou who won us a lot of ball games, but more importantly she was a tremendous role model, a true ambassador of our program.

“She will continue to be that role model as a member of our coaching staff. She has tremendous ties to the youth softball community, the Columbia area and especially our alumni. She brings in a wealth of knowledge and experience as to what it means to be a Mizzou Tiger.”

Norman is returning to the Mizzou Softball program after playing for the Tigers from 2017-19 with her final season being Anderson’s first in Columbia. Her final appearance in the Black and gold as in the NCAA Los Angeles Regional against UCLA when she pitched 4.1 innings and allowed only one run in a winning effort. In 2019, Norman was named to the NFCA Southeast All-Region Third Team.

“I am extremely honored for Coach Anderson to allow me this opportunity,” Norman said about rejoining the Tiger program. “I have come full circle and I’m happy to be home again at Mizzou. It’s a dream come true to coach with this staff and at this school.”
