Mizzou Tigers Men Win the SEC Opener

On Wednesday night the Kentucky Wildcats came into Mizzou Arena for a Southeastern Conference battle.  The Wildcats came in to the game ranked 19th in the nation with an 8-3 record with all three losses coming at the hands of top 11 ranked teams in the polls, Mizzou brought an 11-1 record into the game with their lone blemish coming from their long time arch rival the number 4 Kansas Jayhawks.  Mizzou was facing their second straight ranked opponent after a big win in the annual Braggin’ Rights game with Illinois in which they won 93-71.  Mizzou took control of the game with a 12 point halftime lead and cruised to a 89-75 victory over the number 19 Wildcats. The Tigers were lead by senior Kobe Brown.  Brown, coming off of a 31 point performance against Illinois followed that up by scoring 30 versus Kentucky.  Three other Tigers were in double figures including 15 from D’Moi Hodge, and 12 points each for Sean East and DeAndre Gholston.  Mizzou will go on the road Wednesday night January 4th to Fayetteville to face the number 9 Arkansas Razorbacks.
