Kiké Hernández’s sixth-inning home run tied the game, and reigning National League MVP Cody Bellinger hit a go-ahead blast in the seventh as the L.A. Dodgers defeated the Atlanta Braves, 4-3, in Game 7 of the NL Championship Series, earning a third trip to the World Series in the last four years.
Hernández pinch-hit for Joc Pederson and homered leading off the sixth inning against A.J. Minter, tying the game with his eighth career postseason home run and second in this series. And with two outs in the seventh, Bellinger fouled off three 2-2 fastballs from Chris Martin before crushing one left over the plate for a 4-3 lead.
The Dodgers will now meet the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series beginning tomorrow (Tuesday) at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
