The Texas Rangers designated former American League home run champ Khris Davis for assignment after he was hitting .157.
Davis was acquired in the trade that sent longtime Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus to the Oakland Athletics in the offseason.

He hit just two home runs and five RBIs in 22 games with Texas.
The designated hitter led the AL in home runs in 2018 for the A’s when he hit 48.
